Check ground conditions during excavation to make sure it is suitable for pipe laying and adequate shoring to be used as necessary

Ensure that pipework is pressure tested before being backfilled.

Check that the correct grade of inspection chamber cover is used and that restrictors are fitted if over 1m deep.

30 Build Stage: External Soft Landscaping

Ensure that minimum 150mm topsoil has been installed and sufficient ground preparation is complete prior to laying turf (and that all stones have been removed in the top 100mm and the surface is raked to a fine tilth).

Check that the turf has been laid neatly with no gaps and with staggered joints.

Ensure that sufficient aftercare is provided to promote new grass growth.

Ensure that in planting areas, a minimum of 300mm of topsoil has been installed, with suitable ground preparation and the correct plant species, size and spacing has been installed
