CCP5 - Maintaining PIPS During Rework/Repack, WP5 - Maintaining Phytosanitary Security During Post Pack Inspection

  • Notify Zespri QA in advance of repacking/reworking

  • Notify Zespri QA in advance of repacking/reworking to lift market restrictions

  • Inspection area is clean, pest and contaminant free and verified by Zespri QA

Packaging

  • Any new packaging to be kept covered when not in use and inspected prior to use

Rework/Repack

  • Pallet bases are not damaged, free of dirt, debris and other contamination

  • Record and verify the status of all new pallets on QUAl-FORM-006 Repack Inspection Record

Donor Fruit

  • A rolling system may be used, if not donor pallets are identified electronically with and IJ hold

  • Details of Donor fruit used is recorded electronically or on QUAL-FORM-006

  • All Donor fruit must have at least the same market status

Verify Rework/Repack

  • If Rework/Repack is done to remove defects, a minimum 200 fruit sample per pallet is reinspected to confirm that defects have been removed

  • The ISO date of the Rework/Repack is recorded on the pallet card

  • If Rework, for a PPQI failure, is abandoned record A next to the ISO date

  • If Rework/Repack is done to remove market restrictions, has a minimum 600 fruit sample been inspected by a CCP2 ZAP/MPI approved person

  • Market restrictions are only lifted when confirmed by Zespri QA

  • CCP5 ZAP to verify that PIPS have been maintained by printing and signing the Repack Record sheet on a daily basis

Pallet Inspection

  • Pallet inspection are being carried out at regular intervals, eg 1 in 10 completed pallets.

  • Pallet inspection are recorded on QUAL-FORM-042 Finished Pallet Inspection Form

Training

  • Staff trained in correct inspection techniques prior to repacking

Abandoning Repack

  • Has any repack been abandoned for any KPINS/Batches

  • Has a minimum of 1000 fruit been checked

  • Has the Decision Criteria for Abandon Repack Due to Low Fruit Loss been followed correctly

Process Improvements

  • Has there been any changes to process as a results of CAPA's, Zespri Audits etc

  • What has been implemented

Uncontrolled Documentation
