Standard, Purpose and Scope of Audit

  • Standard: Westair Aviation FOM and SOP

  • Purpose: To ensure quality within all daily Flight Operations

  • Scope: Compliance with the Westair FOM and SOP during Flight Operations.

1 Pre-flight

  • 1.1 Does the crew have up to date tools to plan for each flight?

  • 1.2 Did the crew calculate take-off, climb and landing performance for each leg, especially for new airports, routes or aircraft?

  • 1.3 Did the crew plan for fuel and oil reserves as required by the regulations?

  • 1.4 On IFR flights does crew use AWOPS to plan for alternates?

  • 1.5 Does the crew ensure the correct aircraft weight and balance is calculated for each sector?

  • 1.6 Did the crew use the applicable process to do last minute changes (LMC) before departure?

  • 1.7 Was the aircraft signed out by an engineer?

  • 1.8 Were any defects found during the pre-flight, reported to the duty engineer or deferred as per the MEL?

  • 1.9 Were all the aircraft’s documents up to date; Certificate of Registration, Certificate of Airworthiness, Release to Service, Radio License, AOC and Certificate of Insurance, etc?

2 In-flight

  • 2.1 Was the Checklist and SOPs strictly followed throughout the flight?

  • 2.2 Has all relevant data and fuel figures been correctly filled into the flight folio?

3. Post flight

  • 3.1 Were all the defects noticed during the flight recorded in the flight folio book and reported to the engineer on arrival at base?

  • 3.2 Was all control locks, chocks and covers been put in after the flight?

  • 3.3 Was all post-flight data been captured onto the relevant systems?

  • 3.4 Was flight support of assistance in all aspects of this flight?
