Standard, Purpose and Scope

  • Standard: NAM CARs 145.02.18, WAM MOE 2.8

  • Purpose: To ensure that the AMO has available and up to date all required technical publications, manuals or guides to carry out work on specific aircraft as per the scope of approval of the AMO.

  • Scope: Technical Library, Electronic Publications or Internet Based Publications.

1 Technical Publications

  • 1.1 Are there a list of manuals subscribed to avaiable?

  • 1.2 Does the Technical Library include manuals for every airframe and powerplant on the AMO scope of approval?

  • 1.3 Are every subscription current, is there a system to ensure currency?

  • 1.4 Are all technical publications available to every AME who needs access?

  • 1.5 If copies or prints are made, is there a system in place to ensure that the prints/copies is only used for a limited period?

  • 1.5.1 Is the system used?

  • 1.6 Are old or out-of-date publications removed from circulation and destroyed or marked "For reference/training only"?

  • 1.7 Are ADs, SBs and other relevant Airworthiness information available for each aircraft maintained by AMO?

  • 1.8 Are aircraft manuals: POH, FOM, MEL and other relevant manuals regularly checked for currency and amended if needed?

  • 1.9 Does the AMO use customer supplied manuals?

  • 1.9.1 Does the AMO ensure that the customer supplied manual is the latest revision and applicable to the aircraft being worked on?

  • 1.10 Are old or out-of-date publications disposed of correctly as per the MOE 2.8.5?
